Happy Chinese New Year!

As many of you may or may not know, the celebration of Chinese New Year began February 19th. I had always know about the holiday, but have never personally celebrated it before. This year, I embarked on a cultural tradition that is meant to clear negative vibes and welcome peace and happiness, and I loved every minute of it. It all began with a quick trip to Windsor, Ontario to a wonderful Chinese restaurant named May Wah Inn Chinese Cuisine. One large food order and an hour later, my roommate, boyfriend, and I have enjoyed a great dinner surrounded by smiling faces and positives attitudes all around.

As someone who has always had a passionate interest in different cultures and ways of life, I strive to remain open-minded and ready to try new things. I believe it is so important for people of any culture to experience another culture. Life’s perspectives are shaped in part by the things we experience and know. I hope to continue to encourage individuals to step outside of their comfort zones to see a difference world.

Tonight, my roommate and I through a Chinese New Year celebration at out apartment. Complete with a dumpling making station, fried rice, hot & sour soup, and more.

Switching from the norm in the smallest ways, can really make all the difference.

Peace and blessings,

Courtney
